POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a crash near South Harting which left an elderly couple with serious injuries when their car hit a tree.
The couple's red Suzuki Alto car collided with a tree on the B2141, at around 12.45 pm on September 6 and both are still in St Richards Hospital at Chichester.

Police are only now appealing for witnesses and are particularly keen to speak to a m
an and woman who stopped to help at the accident scene in an isolated rural area near South Harting.

They left before any details were taken as they said they were going to a wedding in the Chichester area.

Police also want to talk to another woman who stopped saying she was a paediatric nurse and helped the injured couple before the ambulance arrived.
