“We will miss these brands on the streets of Chichester. It now makes it even more important for the BID to focus on delivering a fantastic and vibrant high street for when lockdown eases to ensure the remaining businesses can trade as effectively as possible.”

Sir Philip Green’s Arcadia group fell into administration last year.

According to reports in the national media, Administrators Deloitte said around 2,450 staff would lose their jobs as a result of the Dorothy Perkins, Wallis and Burton sale, and the 214 stores would permanently close.

It has been reported that only a fraction of the Arcadia businesses’ 13,000 staff members will carry on into employment with the new owners.
