E36 328i manual convertible for sale. Current mileage is just under 171,000. Date of first registration was 20 May 1998, MOT'd until 02 May 2017.
I purchased the car in September 2012 with around 143,000 miles on it, the intention being to run it for a year or so but it got to stay quite a bit longer! I made a decision early on to spend money maintaining it where it mattered - anything which made it go, steer or stop - rather than cosmetics and as such there are several bodywork flaws with the car which are detailed later on.
The car has BMW service history up to 62,000 miles in 2004, after which it was serviced by independents up to 91,000 miles in 2007. There is a gap in the history to 130,000 when the person I purchased from started documenting the work he carried out. I have continued this document which will be supplied with the car as an .xlsx spreadsheet and in addition to a folder with receipts etc where available.
I used the car daily for four and a half years and in its time with me has had the following attended to:
Sep-12 - 143,000: Replaced the pusher fan for the A/C radiator
Sep-12 - 143,100: A/C regassed. Cleaned and treated roof with Fabsil waterproofing, oil & filter changed.
Sep-12 - 143,800: Replaced grommets and clips on tonneau cover, again to assist with waterproofing
Jan-13 - 145,000: Two Falken 452 rear tyres fitted (245/40/17 XL rated)
Apr-13 - 147,000: NSF & OSF lower wishbone bushes replaced, front brake pipes replaced, rear brake pads replaced, brake fluid replaced
Apr-13 - 147,900: A/C regassed again.
Sep-13 - 147,900: Radiator replaced, water pump changed to metal version as precautionary measure, coolant float sensor replaced. A/C regassed (again).
Dec-13 - 153,500: Four new tyres - Hankook Ventus V12 XL (245/40/17 rear, 225/45/17 front).
Dec-13 - 153,500: Replaced all spark plugs (NGK), replaced Mass Airflow Sensor, replaced intake boot.
May-14 - 156,250: New front brake pads and new wear sensor fitted, oil and filter changed.
Jul-14 - 158,000: Leaking damper - replaced both fronts with OEM units. Aligned on Hunter laser alignment machine.
Jan-15 - 160,015: Rear screen replaced after original split in the cold. Deep cleaned & Fabsil treated roof.
Apr-15 - 161,400: Oil, oil filter, air filter and cabin filter all replaced.
Feb-16 - 165,500: Two new rear tyres - Hankook Ventus S1 Evo2 (as V12s were not available).
Feb-16 - 165,600: New OEM discs and pads all round, replaced both engine belts as rubber was starting to perish.
Apr-16 - 166,500: Minor welding to suspension mounting point for MOT.
Oct-16 - 169,500: Replaced Mass Airflow Sensor (Haas)
Due to the low mileage (around 5-6k per annum) I've left the oil change a little longer so one will be due soon. The OBC recently moved from a single green bar to amber on the oil service indicator.

The hardtop must have been sold some time in the past as it did not come with the car when I bought it and at some point the previous owner fitted the following in addition to the options listed above:
* Upgraded audio - the car has Genesis amplifiers, Mac Audio Reference & Alpine speakers, along with a Dice MediaBridge module which provides Bluetooth and USB connectivity. This connects to the CD Changer prep. and supports Bluetooth audio streaming as well as handsfree for phone calls. It's been working beautifully with my Nexus 6P and will be left with the car.
* E36 M3 multi-function steering wheel with E39 MFSW buttons - these work with the stereo and control the volume, prev/next track (including via the Bluetooth) as well as call answer/end.
* E46 auto-dimming rear-view mirror including auto wiper functionality.
* Extended lighting including footwell, exterior puddle lights and interior door handle LEDs.
* 17" M3 Contour alloy wheels in anthracite. They are not in great condition.
As with many E36s of this age, it suffers from some rust in the usual places; both rear arches, below the boot lip and there is some pin-hole rust on the driver's door (see photos). There are some other scuffs and marks which one would expect on a car with this mileage.
The last MOT raised advisories on jacking points starting to corrode as well as a damp power steering rack, coolant leak and minor damage to the offside rear brake light which shows a touch of white to the rear. Regarding the coolant I have kept a close eye on the level and topped up as required.
Why am I selling? I've bought a nice E46 330Ci as I wanted an auto and I don't have room or the need to keep both cars.
The car is in Worthing, West Sussex. I don't want to p/x or swap anything for it thanks.
