THIS weekend could be the last of traffic chaos in and around Arundel.
The A27 railway bridge will close at 8pm tomorrow (Friday, October 10), and reopen at 6am on Monday, as it did for two weekends last month.

Although closures are planned for a further three weekends, taking works into November, a spokesman for the Highways Agency said he hoped the work would be completed earlier.

"As of last weekend, we were on schedule to finish this weekend."

He added that factors such as the weather could play their part in delaying the completion, and that the works, which include waterproofing and resurfacing the bridge, and carrying out brickwork repairs, may continue on October 17-20, and October 31-November 3.

While the bridge is closed two diversions, using the A259, will be in operation.
