Funtington Parish Council has had to fork out more than £100 to replace a park sign which had been sprayed with graffiti.
The sign in the Millennium playground off Southbrook Road, West Ashling, once read along the lines of: caution, do not leave children unattended.

Vandals came up with an alternative which read: caution do not leave your children unattended or they will be sold to the circus.

Parish council chairman Jim Sewell said: "In a way people may just think it is humourous, but it is still more than £100 of parish money."
