STAFF at Brent Lodge Wildlife Hospital in Sidlesham are calling for people to help thirsty birds and hedgehogs during hot weather.
Hospital founder Dennis Fenter said: "Although the increasingly long periods of hot weather we are getting lately are enjoyed by most humans, many of our wildlife friends struggle to cope with it.
"The heat dries the ground out making it difficult for hedgehogs and birds to find natural food such as slugs and worms, and there is also a lack of available water for hedgehogs to drink and for birds to use for bathing as well as drinking."
