Frontage an affront

I WAS interested to read objections from the Chichester Conservation Area Advisory Committee and the Chichester Society regarding a restaurant sign in South Street had been overruled by a planning inspector.

I assume any objections made regarding the frontage change of use of the parking area to Fernleigh, North Street, would also be disregarded by the planning inspector?

This recently-occupied listed building of knapped flint now appears to be clad on each side by newly-planted magnolias, the forecourt has a four-wheeled drive vehicle emblazoned with advertising permanently parked there.

The highways department have also chosen to affix to the replacement iron railings a metal note regarding the city’s parking regulations, plus a litter bin. The railings replace the original low flint and brick wall which I regarded as appropriate to the house.
