New homes an issue

HAVING lived in Birdham for 24 years, I am surprised to see councillors Bolton and Crossley calling for faith to be restored in our parish council.

We had an election in May last year and a new council elected by the ballot, an unusual event for most villages.

If only 40 residents out of a village of 1,000-plus voters disagree with our council, what’s the problem?

New homes to resolve the needs of the 4,000 people on the Chichester District Council housing list is the issue.

We are fortunate to be living in a great sustainable village with a filling station, post office/shop, primary school, church and a great village hall/playing field.

We can accommodate a few more homes; other villages in the area are playing their part.
