A BEACH-lover has made a splash after her pretty red and white beach hut was crowned the best in the country.

Julia Lee-Delisle owns number 60, situated on the golden sands of West Wittering beach, and on top of winning the main award in the national Beach Hut of the Year competition, the candy cane-striped hut also won the category for best-presented hut.

“It means so much to me as I’ve put so much effort into my hut over the years,” said Julia. “I just love it – it’s right on the wonderful sandy beach at West Wittering and gets compliments from admirers daily.

“I wanted my hut to be a fun and ‘delicious’ place to be, so good you could almost eat it.

“With a twist of shabby chic, mixing old with new, everything in my hut is red or white, or a bit of both.

“There’s entertainment for all weathers and the ‘treasure chest’ holds games and activities.”
