An inspirational evening is guaranteed when virtuoso cellist Natalie Clein performs with the Chichester Pro Camerata on Friday, July 3
at 7.30 pm at St Paul's Church, Churchside, Chichester.
Camerata founder and spokesman Michael Sullivan said a wonderful concert was in prospect with the chance to listen to one of the world's truly great virtuoso cellists.
"As part of the Chichester Pro Camerata's Virtuoso series, Natalie will perform the Haydn Cello Concerto in C major as well as a new commission, sponsored by the Friends of West Sussex Young Musicians, On The South Downs.
"The piece, composed by the Bulgarian composer Dobrinka Tabakova, is a composition for solo cello, choir and orchestra.
"Chichester's Chantry Quire and the Fernhurst Choral Society will be performing alongside the Camerata, as well as selected members of the West Sussex County Youth Orchestra."
The professionals and the young musicians will be linked through a buddy system, allowing the youngsters to get the full benefit from the opportunity.
"Natalie has such natural facility and flair. She is a hugely-exciting performer to listen to.
"She is very very immediate and the audience will witness that immediacy in performance. She will be hugely inspirational, both to the student players and also to the professional players."
As for the rest of the programme, Mozart's Symphony No.40 will be performed by the professional musicians of the Chichester Pro Camerata, all under the baton of renowned conductor Christopher Gayford.
To book tickets for this performance (priced £16.50 adults, £12.50 senior citizens and £4.50 students) write to the Chichester Pro Camerata, Hasted House, 18A St John's Street, Chichester, West Sussex, PO19 1UP (include a cheque made payable to the Chichester Pro Camerata) or telephone 01243 538992 or 07747 770995.
