Hmmm, sadly 'sassy' isn't the first word which comes to mind if you have the misfortune to pick this dire film from the shelf.
Gross, stupid, irritating, unbearable, self-indulgent, reckless, charmless, unappealing…
Yes, sassy isn't remotely near the front of the queue of epithets when Jordan (Elisha Cuthbert) staggers onto the scene and nearly tumbles under a tube train.
She's supposed to the chic and sophisticated, beguiling and a bit special. She's none of them.
And yet poor old Charlie (Jesse Bradford), shy and sensitive, still falls hopelessly in love with her.
Does it all end happily? Who knows? The off button was just irresistible after 40 minutes of this tosh.
Unless you're wanting to set some kind of endurance record, don't try this at home. You've been warned.
Phil Hewitt.
