WHEN daffodils bloom on the Dog and Bacon green in Warnham Road, Horsham, it will be a reminder there are children in our society who need to find loving families.
Supporting National Adoption Week, Horsham In Bloom aptly planted bulbs on Children in Need day with the help of volunteers from Action for Children and some muscle power from Horsham District Council's park services department.
"This project should make a spectacular difference to this open green area in the spring," said Horsham in Bloom's Christine Costin.
Horsham in Bloom reminded everyone that now is the time to plant plenty of colourful bulbs, ready to cheer everyone up when their buds open in early spring.
Action for Children's Horsham office in Crawley Road is looking for families for children aged four and over.
It also needs families for sibling groups, children with disabilities and also those from black and minority ethnic groups.
It welcome applications from all sectors of the community.
Rhian Rutland, from Action for Children, said: "The process of becoming an adoptive parent is rigorous, and that is as it should be.
"But there are no blanket bans, so please don't think we'll turn you down because you're over 40, single, or don't own your own home.
"What we need are people who can offer a child or sibling group a loving and supportive family for life - people who can help a child recover from the reasons why they came into care and help them go on to thrive in a new family."
