A YOUNG man who was jumping across roofs at Horsham's Forum had to be rescued by firefighters after he lost his nerve.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said the man was with four friends who had all been jumping together near Beales department store in the early hours of Sunday morning last week when one became so scared he remained rooted to the spot and the emergency services were called.

Paramedics treated the man and said they believe he had suffered from a panic attack. He refused hospital treatment.

Firefighters had to use harnesses to rescue him and police officers and paramedics helped the other four to safety.

The fire service were called at 2.42am and the police were asked to help at 2.47am.
