TWO FIRES were dealt with by emergency services in the Washington area on Friday (June 27).
The turbo diesel engine of a coach caught alight, on the A24 northbound at Washington, which closed the neaby roundabout.
Firefighters were called in at around 4.30pm and they dealt with a spillage of oil - the road was sanded.
Later, a garden shed caught fire at a house in Spring Gardens in the village.
Firefighters were called at around 8pm and removed and cooled a propane cylinder.
