THEATRE: From the Yorkshire Dales to the Festival Theatre for Christopher Timothy

Chichester favourite Christopher Timothy returns to Chichester Festival Theatre this summer in The Grapes Of Wrath.

The piece, adapted by Frank Galati from the novel by John Steinbeck, runs from July 10 to August 28, playing in repertoire on the main stage in a co-production with English Touring Theatre.

Christopher, who has lived in the Chichester area for years, plays Pa Joad.

His theatre credits include tours of Tons Of Money and Hay Fever.

Directed by Chichester Festival Theatre's artistic director Jonathan Church, this adaptation of The Grapes Of Wrath was premiered by Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre Company in 1988 and won two Tony awards on its transfer to Broadway.

Original music will be by John Tams who has had a career spanning four decades. He is a former member of the Albion Band and Home Service and six-times winner of the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.
