Audi get a car to the top of that then...?

Racing towards the sky with no intention of stopping, these two model cars tower above Goodwood House to celebrate the centenary of Audi.

The stunning piece of automotive art is more than 35 metres tall and is the centrepiece for this year's Festival of Speed.

The installation is one of the festival's most striking yet and is visible from many miles away. Goodwood spokesman Gary Axon said: "The idea of the statue is to show speed.

"It is quite a nice, simple design really which I think suits Audi, being very much a design-led car manufacturer.

"Last year's Land Rover sculpture was a love or hate thing for visitors.

"But I think this year people will be impressed, especially when they see the scale of it."

The finishing touches to the sculpture were taking place yesterday – a job needing a real head for heights...
