Family Racing For Life

THREE generations of the same family will join 2,000 runners and walkers in Ardingly this Sunday to support a cause very close to their hearts.
Jan Taylor from Haywards Heath, her daughter Sarah Marples and granddaughter Emily Marples, both from Burgess Hill, are taking part in Race for Life to raise money for Cancer Research.
Supporting the charity means a great deal to the family because Emily's younger sister Alice, aged nine, is undergoing chemotherapy treatment for the second time after being diagnosed with a brain tumour at the age of four.
Emily, 12, said: "I love running so it is great to be able to run for such a good cause and for my sister Alice because she always remains so positive and cheerful despite all the various treatments she has to endure."
The 5k event starts at 11am at the Ardingly showground and it is hoped those taking part will raise £141,000.

Participants can also bring a bag of any unwanted clothes, books, CDs or DVDs to a 'donation station'.
The Mid Sussex Times, which has entered a team, is supporting Race for Life and pictures of the event will be published in a future edition of the paper and will be available on our website at
