Tumble drier blaze destroys garden shed

A GARDEN shed was destroyed when a tumble drier inside it caught fire in Junction Mews, Burgess Hill, on Saturday (September 27).

Burgess Hill fire chief Ivor Henley said the cause of the blaze was believed to be an electrical fault in the machine.

Three fire crews from Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath and Henfield were called to the incident just after 5.30pm.

Burgess Hill fire crew were on standby at the town's bonfire night when they were diverted to the incident.

Mr Henley said smoke from the blaze could be seen from the top of Junction Road as they approached.
