A LADY locksmith from Haywards Heath is celebrating after winning a top trader's award.

Lucy Turner set up her business as a mobile locksmith a year and a half ago and already she is making her mark.

After being nominated by customers, Ms Turner beat 500 other hopefuls to the Trader of the Year 2008, organised by Bright fm.

Ms Turner, who was an estate agent for seven years, before training to be a locksmith, was delighted with the award at such an early stage in her career.

She said: "I was over the moon when I found out and just so chuffed about it. I love my job and changing careers was the best thing I have ever done.

"I think a lot of people living on their own feel safer calling a woman out, especially elderly people. And I love meeting new people and being out and about and working for myself."

Ms Turner has won a two-week advertising campaign on the radio, £750 cash and one year's membership with Checkatrade who helped with the search to find the best business.
