YOUNGSTERS in Middleton and Felpham can now enjoy more thrills and spills thanks to an extension of the existing skatepark.
Larksfield skatepark was given a £25,000 facelift following a successful partnership between Arun District Council, Felpham Parish Council and Middleton Parish Council.

Among the new features are a mini-ramp with hips, a pyramid hip, a quarter pipe, grind rail, grind block and two benches.

The project was launched after consultation with skaters and bikers who already used the facilities.

It was funded thanks to contributions of £15,000 from Felpham Parish Council, £8,000 from Middleton Parish Council and £2,000 from Arun District Council.

Councillor Paul Wotherspoon, cabinet member for the environment, was at the opening ceremony.

He said: "I am delighted another successful partnership between local councils has led to such a fine facility for the local young people of Felpham and Middleton and, no doubt, for those who are willing to travel further."
