BETTER access to GPs is top of the priority list for West Sussex patients, according to a new survey.
The health check on the NHS' primary and community care services showed people wanted to be able to access their GP surgery in the evenings and weekends to avoid the need to take time off work.
But the West Sussex Primary Care Trust said access to
surgeries was now better than ever, with 83 per cent of practices offering their patients routine appointments at times outside the core hours of 8am to 6.30pm on weekdays.
Director of primary care development Louise Watson said: "Locally our GPs and their teams are performing well in many areas and our patients value the care they receive."
