Students from Bognor Regis Community College and Felpham Community College were among more than 500 who gained experience of science in industry.
They travelled to Wakehurst Place where the millennium seed bank project opened its doors to allow young people to discover more about science.
Many prospective employers talked about their profession and the students enjoyed hands-on experience of science in medicines, computers, robots and DNA policing.
