Sporting youngsters got in the Olympic mood in Felpham as anticipation about the 2012 Games begins to mount.
The 21 children who took part in one of the holiday club sessions at the Arun Leisure Centre were given an advanced glimpse of the Olympic flag.
The arrival of the flag around the country signifies the fact London is now the official Olympic Game
s host city.
Those who saw the flag are already keen Olympians.
Chloe Greene (nine), who attends Bishop Tufnell Junior School in Felpham, said: "I'm looking forward to the Olympics coming to London.
"The Olympics are good because I like seeing Britain winning medals.
"I like watching the diving and swimming. My favourite sport is swimming and I do it sometimes at the centre."
Rustington's Summerlea Primary School pupil Ollie Stedham (ten) said: "It will be good to have the Olympics in London.
It's enjoyable to watch them, especially the swimming, because it's exciting and the swimmers are always breaking world records."
The children – aged between six and 12 – enjoyed an afternoon of tennis-ball bullseye, a football shoot-out, table tennis and other sports in between seeing the Olympic flag.
They were joined at its unveiling by a group of dignitaries.
They were Arun District Council chairman Cllr Ashvin Patel, Bognor Regis town mayor Cllr Jennifer Gillibrand, Inspire Leisure chairman Mike Dixon and chief executive John Stride and Arun District Council senior member Cllr Norman Dingemans.
The Olympic flag was officially raised outside the Arun Civic Centre in Littlehampton as the Beijing Games ended and the countdown to London officially began.
