Guests at St Wilfrid's Hospice summer ball were entertained by Frank Sinatra ballads and an Elvis impersonator before digging deep into their pockets to raise £8,000 for the charity.
More than 100 people sipped champagne and enjoyed a four-course meal at the Hilton Avisford Park Hotel before Chichester-based Strides Auctioneers had the tables clamouring to outbid each other to win the lots on offer, including a helicopter flight
.
Jill Dennison, fundraising co-ordinator for the hospice said: "Thanks must go to everyone who made the evening such a huge success. To have raised so much money is truly magnificent."
