TODAY the Observer series is launching a major campaign called A&E SOS to protect vital hospital services in Chichester.
It already has the backing of Chichester MP Andrew Tyrie as well as a number of campaign groups, NHS staff and patients.
What we are calling for a written guarantee that Accident & Emergency services at St Richard’s Hospital, as well as orthopaedic services, are not adversely affected by a controversial NHS contract being awarded to Bupa CSH Ltd.
The full details of our campaign, and why the hospital trust believes a £235m MSK contract going to the private sector causes ‘serious concerns’, is in today’s Chichester Observer newspaper.
There you will find a form to fill in to join our fight so that just as back in 2008 when St Richard’s services were last under threat, we can ensure an effective Accident & Emergency unit remains in our city.
