PUPILS, parents and staff celebrated together at Lavant House School as the much anticipated A level results were finally opened (August 14).
Head girl Annabel Mossop was thrilled to scoop an A and two Bs in physics, maths and chemistry as she can now pursue her dream to study astrophysics at the University of Kent in Canterbury.
She said: “This represents a lot of hard work and an even greater amount of nervousness this morning although I did log onto my tracking online very early this morning and found that I had been offered my desired place at university so I knew that I hadn’t done too badly!
“I couldn’t be happier and can’t wait to start my four year course which includes a year studying in either the US or Canada.”
Double celebrations will also get underway in the Martin household as Becki turns 19 tomorrow as well as raising a glass to her A level success. She said: “I am absolutely delighted with my results this morning, particularly the A in maths which I worked so hard for. I was very stressed waiting for this morning to come and feel so relieved now.”
Becki plans to take a gap year before beginning her university life training to be a primary school teacher.
Headmistress at Lavant House, Caroline Horton said: “It is always splendid to see so many happy young people and their parents when they come to school to find out how they did.
“All of the staff make sure they’re here to share the excitement too as we pride ourselves on our family atmosphere.
“This year’s A level and AS level results are very pleasing indeed which is due to a lot of hard work and commitment from all concerned. Congratulations girls.”
