Members of the newly appointed parents’ committee at West Dean Pre-school were joined by friends and children last half-term to spruce up their building in the grounds of the primary school.Committee member Jas Stone said: “A hectic week was spent preparing, clearing, painting, rolling – and laughing – so that when the children returned after half-term they were delighted to find a freshly decorated and inviting pre-school. “This follows the wonderful makeover of the exterior of the building which took place one weekend last autumn, when parents and children painted the fences and sheds. “A tactile ‘dinosaur garden’ and ‘discovery area’ was also established.”West Dean Pre-school was opened 20 years ago and was beginning to show signs of age, so the committee, led by Louise Jarvis, made it their mission to come up with a solution. The building now looks sparkling and new and Louise and Jas gave heartfelt thanks to the Dulux Decorator Centre and Brewers, in Chichester, who donated the paint, brushes and rollers.

The pre-school is a charity and provides early years care for children between two-and-a-half and school age.
