A LITTLE boy who is ‘always smiling’ has been crowned the winner of the Observer’s Cute Kids competition.

Benny, who is named after his father Ben Ingram, lives with his parents on his family’s farm in Maudlin, near Chichester.

“He is just the happiest little boy,” said Mr Ingram.

“He is always smiling and laughing. He isn’t walking yet and he still wants everything done for him.

“He never really cries and he sleeps a lot. He is just a very nice baby.”

Mr Ingram has lived on the farm all his life and said 11-month-old Benny is always surrounded by family.

“Ben’s got an older brother called Sydney. He is four and is
just starting school, and he’s really proud of his brother for winning the competition,”
said Mr Ingram.

“They are pretty identical. Sydney entered the competition too, but he’s really proud of his brother for winning. They get on really well.”

Mr Ingram said the family had not been planning to enter the competition at all, but had seen what was going on in Sainsbury’s.

“I said to Su, Benny’s mum, that we should enter.

“The kids were just wearing what they normally wear, we hadn’t planned for this at all.

“We’re very pleased.”

Benny will celebrate his first birthday on November 16.
