A planning application has been submitted to Chichester District Council to convert what was Bon Marche in South Street into a restaurant.
The application was made by Total Look Developments Ltd on July 7 with the determination deadline on September 1.
Chris Ward, representative for the applicant said they are in talks with several different types of restaurant companies, but nothing will be determined until the council have decided whether to permit the proposal.
He said: “This proposal would benefit Chichester as it provides an extra facility for shoppers and tourists who come to the city.”
The planning reference is 12/02728/COU.
