Bosham’s new permanent Christmas tree will be lit up in all its glory for the village’s annual carols on the meadow celebration next week.
The huge tree was recently planted alongside the A259 roundabout next to the White Swan pub by the Friends of Old Bridge Meadow, and will light up for the carols on Friday, December 16, from 6pm.
Last weekend the tree and surrounding area was lightly decorated for the first time and the group were delighted that Louise Goldsmith, West Sussex County Council leader, paid a visit and helped install some of the decorations.
Richard Spong from Friends of Old Bridge Meadow said of next Friday’s carols: “The Salvation Army Band will accompany the singing, mulled wine and mince pies will be available on site, and we are informed that yet again Father Christmas has found time to visit the event.”
