A MAN was arrested on the Chichester high street this morning (November 4), after allegedly making off with £5,000 worth of jewellery.
A Chichester police spokeswoman said: “At approximately 11.55am we had a report of a male detained outside Amoeba Jewellers, East Street.
“The male had grabbed a tray of rings worth to £5,000 and ran from the store.
“He was detained by two unknown members of the public until police arrived.
“The male had been seen acting suspiciously in a number of jewellers throughout the morning. The investigation is ongoing.”
