EMERGENCY services have been called to a lorry which is on fire at the Stockbridge Roundabout on the A27 Chichester Bypass.
The road was blocked in both directions, with Sussex West Road Policing Unit advising motorists to seek alternative routes.
The fire brigade was called just before 1.39pm today (Tuesday 26) to reports of an articulated lorry carrying wood.
Simon Taylor, from Chichester, said: “It looked like a tyre exploded on the lorry. It was so loud I thought it was a gas explosion.”
No injuries have been reported.
All lanes have now been reopened.
