Caffe Nero plans to open another outlet in central Chichester in addition to the company’s existing cafe on East Street.
The coffee chain submitted applications to Chichester District Council this week to take over the vacant space left by Sicilia at 57-58 South Street.
Permission would include a refit of the premises and a formal change of use to allow the ground-floor shop to become a cafe.
A staff member at the current Caffe Nero in East Street said the new cafe was expected to open in about a month’s time and that more staff were expected to be recruited for the South Street shop.
