HOPES are high a scheme which helps small businesses boost their revenue by up to 50 per cent could return to Chichester.
Members of Chichester District Council will today (Tuesday, October 8) be asked to back the re-establishment of the Enabling Grant Scheme.
The scheme, helping small businesses to launch or upgrade their websites, would be supported by £40,000 of KickStart funding from West Sussex County Council.
Originally piloted in 2002, the scheme was renamed in 2005 to provide up to 50 per cent of the cost of the development or enhancement of a small business website, with a maximum grant of £1,000.
It helped more than 300 companies, with some reporting an increase in business turnover of 40 to 50 per cent.
However, it was stopped in 2009 when government funding was lost.
If the scheme is resurrected, a minimum of 40 small businesses could be helped to start or relaunch their websites.
