New Park Road closed for two weeks

A city centre road will be closed for just over a fortnight so that vital sewage work can be carried out.

West Sussex County announced the closure on part of the A286 on New Park Road, so that a new sewer connection can be made underneath the road surface.

The road will be closed on the junction with St Pancras, northwards to the entrance of New Park Road car park.

The work starts on Monday and will continue until November 2.

Alternative routes will be indicated to drivers around the site.

The council has said access to properties around the site will be maintained.

Anyone with queries about the closure should call the county council’s contact centre on 01243 642105.

Businesses in the area that are concerned about the road closure should contact our reporter Bex Bastable on 01243 534153 or email bex.bastable@chiobserver.co.uk
