THE OWNER of the Fountain and Vestry bars in Chichester has reassured staff and customer that the pubs are safe from the threat of closure.

Alan Frith who owns the company Sussex Inns took the pubs on in May 2011.

In June last year he franchised the pubs to Sussex Inns (Chichester) Limited, to take time out.

However the franchise was in trouble in January of this year, and as Sussex Inns (Chichester) Limited went into liquidation, Mr Frith took the franchise back from the pubs which are again under his ownership.

He said there will be no changes to staff or the running of the pub, he has simply taken the franchise back, and the pubs would not be closing.

For the full interview see next week’s Observer (February 21).
