A STABLE business is looking ahead as work on a major project to deliver a new indoor riding school gathers momentum.

Lavant House Stables was given permission for the new building last year and once finished it will enable the stables to deliver innovative events, classes, clinics and activity days.

The going has been good for the stables, which is enjoying a surge in popularity, for both its classes and events.

More than 400 people enjoyed its magical bluebell woods when owner Lucy Thomson and her team threw open thee doors for a special open day.

Record crowds turned out for the event and enjoyed pony and tractor rides, and got to see the beautiful horses during a series of riding demonstrations, and a tour of the facilities.

The event raised more than £250 for the charity Charlie’s Challenge which funds research into children’s brain tumours.
