Care home rated higher than national average

RESIDENTS at a Selsey care home, are celebrating after the home received a higher score than the national average in a residents‘ satisfaction survey.

The annual Your Care results, revealed mid February, showed Sussex Grange Care Home, in Vincent Road, was given an overall performance rating of 938 out of 1,000 which was higher than the national average of 872.

The survey is the country’s largest survey of care home residents.

More than 21,000 residents in 1,034 care homes across the UK took part.

The overall scores are based on; Staff and Care, Home Comforts, Choice and Having a Say, and Quality of Life.

Dr Tom Jameson, manager at Sussex Grange, said: “it’s great that our residents value the care they receive at Sussex Grange.

“All of our scores are really positive, which shows that life for our residents is happy and fulfilling.

“While we’re really pleased with our scores, we obviously want to get even better and the survey helps us do that by giving us direct resident feedback.”

Marriott House and Lodge Care Home, in Tollhouse Close, Chichester, gained an overall score of 837.

Residents gave a rating of 819 for Having a Say and 873 for Quality of Life.

Augusta Court, in Winterbourne Road, Chichester, was given an overall rating of 883.

Its residents gave it a rating of 851 for Having a Say and 932 for Quality of Life.
