A charity in the Witterings has been presented with a £10,000 cheque, following Jubilee celebrations this summer.
West Wittering Estate has presented the Friends of the Witterings medical centre with the money, which will go towards providing vital equipment for the new patient consulting rooms.
The Estate worked closely with the community to plan a 1950s style village fete on Monday, June 4. The aim was to host an event which would be run by local people for local charities.
The event at the West Wittering car park saw traditional stalls, a children’s tea party, raffles, a dog show, live music, and the lighting of the armada beacon.
The evening was brought to a close with fireworks.
Marcus Irwin-Brown, the Estate’s MD, said: “The success of the day was down to the joint effort and support that we received from local people and local businesses all of whom made such a huge and much welcomed contribution.”
