THERE was a hotel takeover in Emsworth as part of the town’s British Food Fortnight.
Chichester College Hospitality and Catering students took over Brookfield Hotel, having created a menu showing the best of British cuisine.
“The service was absolutely fantastic, so fast and very attentive. We opted for the mackerel and the steak and we thought both dishes were cooked to perfection and tasted absolutely wonderful. All we want to do now is come to Chichester College to taste more of what is on offer,” said customer Carol Penrose.
The students were working in the kitchen and front of house on September 25 under the watchful gaze of head chef Marcus Chilestone and general manager Amanda Thomas.
The takeover was organised by lecturer Paul Rennie, who said: “The work ethic of the students has been incredible. Everything that came out of the restaurant today has been created on site and so they have all worked very hard to ensure that the reputation of the restaurant has been upheld.”
