An investigation is underway after the cab of an HGV dumper lorry was destroyed by fire in Chichester today (Tuesday, October 2).
The incident happened in the early hours of this morning, as fire crews from Chichester and Worthing were called to the scene in Stane Street.
The HGV was parked in the single-storey waste management centre, and areas of the roof above the lorry also caught alight.
Firefighters were at the scene from 3.45am to just after 6am, and inspected the roof of the building, damping down and removing certain sections.
Several other lorries also had to be moved to prevent them from catching fire.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown and being investigated.
