CYCLISTS are once again set to take on the May bank holiday ride to Chartres to raise money for good causes.
Organised by Chichester Harbour Rotary Club, in aid of St Wilfrid’s Hospice and other charities, this year’s event, is the sixth of its kind. It will cover a scenic route of 160 miles.
The 40 cyclists taking part will depart from the Assembly Rooms at 4pm on Friday, May 3.
They will ride to Portsmouth, taking the overnight ferry to Eveux, where overnight accommodation has been booked.
Then, they will ride on to Chartres for a civic reception and dinner before being taken back to Caen by coach on Monday.
Accommodation is £265 and cyclists must raise a minimum of £150 in sponsorship. The event has raised more than £60,000 for a variety of charities over the last five years.
