A GROUP of students are going the extra mile to raise funds for a children’s charity.

Four friends are embarking on the cycle challenge across the south coast of France to raise money for Barnardo’s.

The group plan to cycle from Perpignan to Nice, a distance of around 525 kilometres.

Mikey Swinyard, 18 from Nutbourne, Hattie Temperley, 18, from Port Solent, Joss Lee, 18, from Rowlands Castle and Max May, 18, from Chichester are hoping to complete the challenge in seven days.

The group of friends are hoping to raise at least a thousand pounds for Barnardo’s.

The group are all completing their A-levels and are looking forward to spending part of their summer break raising money for a good cause.

It has been a joint effort between all four friends organising the trip and fundraising before they set off on their journey on August 28. Visit www.justgiving.com/Cycle-To-Nice.
