CHILDREN at Birdham Nursery School created a piece of artwork using some card, glue and a pile of coins to celebrate the nursery’s 30th anniversary.

The nursery, which operates from the village hall at Crooked Lane, is holding a few fun events leading up to July, where there will be a party to celebrate the milestone. On Friday children placed their coins on to some card to create the number ‘30’.

Mum Philippa Neville, whose four-year-old son David goes to Birdham Nursery School, said: “This is one of a series of events they are doing leading up to July for the anniversary. There will be a party with birthday cake. The next event is in April, where children will be building a Lego tower.”

It’s a big year for the nursery, which hopes to move to a brand new purpose-built building next to Birdham Primary School.

Deputy manager Jan Thomas said: “We are trying to raise money for the new building.”
