Christmas by candlelight promises festive cheer

THIS year’s Arundel by Candlelight will take place on Saturday, December 7, to get everyone in the mood for the festive season.

Arundel by Candlelight will once again be full of seasonal cheer. In the town square, the town will look magical with shops, restaurants, pubs and houses decorated with trees and white lights.

A Christmas market and festive entertainment will start at 1pm and the main Christmas tree lights will be switched on by the Duchess of Norfolk at 4.45pm.

Children are invited to make their own lanterns and join the candlelit parade from the top of the High Street at 4.15pm.

Families will be able to walk safely through the town as the roads are closed to traffic – with free parking from 1pm – listening to Christmas carols and enjoying mulled wine.

The Christmas market will offer lots of opportunities for picking up the perfect present and Arundel’s independent shops will be filled with gift ideas.

Arundel Barnham & District Lions Club will run Santa’s grotto, raising funds for local charities – while the Arundel & District Rotary Club will be selling mistletoe to raise money for good causes. The event is sponsored by estate agents Jackson-Stops & Staff.
