Cold call incidents in Chichester and Selsey

POLICE have warned the public to watch out for cold callers in the area.

This comes after a man knocked on a door in Grove Road, Selsey, on Monday evening (January 28), claiming he was from Talk Talk. He had no ID on him, and was told not to cold call.

In Cedar Drive, Chichester, the next day, at 10:10am a man tried to push his way into a property claiming he was there to read a metre.

He claimed he was from Southern Electric. The occupant stopped him from gaining entry and checked with the company who confirmed they had no representative of theirs in the area.

Sussex Police has said: “Please do not allow anyone access to your home unless you are expecting them. Always ask for ID.”
