Katy Bourne’s latest video blog

Waiting for Video...

Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner Katy Bourne talks about Sussex Police’s plans to be sufficiently resourced to meet future challenges in her first blog of the New Year.

She reports back following a meeting of the Police & Crime Panel of Friday, January 24 which set the police precept for 2014/15. The panel supported Mrs Bourne’s proposal to increase the precept (the amount you pay for policing in your Council Tax) for 2014/15.

Applications to join the Sussex Youth Commission have now closed and the Commissioner will join new recruits at its first meeting on Saturday, February 1 where its young people, aged 14-25 from across Sussex, will challenge and inform the Commissioner on the priorities within the local Police & Crime Plan.

The Commissioner has also been following another group of new recruits this month as they undergo training before joining local neighbourhood patrols out in the community. Tune in to find out what makes this group of volunteers so special.
