On Saturday August 20, Reverend Anne Waizenecker and Shoreham Churches Together will be holding a service in St Mary de Haura church in New Road, Shoreham, with all welcome to attend.

The community is then invited on Monday August 22 to join emergency services and members of Adur District Council outside the Shoreham Centre in Pond Road for a minute of silence at exactly 1.22pm, marking one year since the tragedy began to unfold.

Leader of Adur District Council Neil Parkin said: “We are clearly approaching a very sensitive time for many people in our communities - not only for those who lost someone dear to them, but also for those who selflessly gave so much of their time and energy in the weeks and months that followed.

“This minute of silence will be our time to remember those tragic events and stand together in solidarity as we move forward as a community.”

Worthing Borough Council will also be holding a minute of silence on the steps of the Town Hall in Chapel Road, to which the community is also invited.

Following the completion of an archive project by West Sussex County Council, images of the thousands of tributes left in the aftermath of the disaster will be on display at the Shoreham Centre across the same dates.

A number of initial design ideas will also be shared with the community as part of the ongoing development to fit a permanent memorial.

A number of memorial tributes were also held to the 11 victims of the crash last year.
