Aldingbourne man to be sentenced for sex offences against young girls

An Aldingbourne man has been remanded in custody to await sentencing after pleading guilty to sexual activity with young girls, Sussex Police has confirmed.

Mitchell Jones, 23, of Nyton Road, Aldinbourne, pleaded guilty at Portsmouth Crown Court on Monday (February 27) to three counts of sexual activity with one girl and one count of sexual activity with another girl, police said.

Police said he met both via social media.

Jones, a roofer, was remanded in custody and will be sentenced on 28 April at the same court, police confirmed.

Police said he has been told he will receive a custodial prison sentence and he will also be put on the sex offenders register.

Detective constable David Midgley of Chichester investigations said; “Jones contacted the girls separately via social media and, despite knowing their ages, exploited them for his sexual gratification.
