TWO suspected arson attacks are being investigated at the old Graylingwell Social Club site, which have left the building seriously damaged.

Fire crews spent several hours battling the second incident at the Palmers Field Avenue site, which happened last night at around 9.30pm.

Four appliances from across the county attended the scene, which required an aerial platform to tackle the blaze.

The building was 50 per cent damaged by fire, which was finally put out at around 1.30am today (Thursday, May 17).

Crews remained at the scene overnight.

It followed an initial incident at the site which happened at around 8.30pm on Tuesday, May 15, and was extinguished within 30 minutes.

A spokesman from West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said the incident was being investigated as a suspected arson. The picture was provided by resident Grant Harris.
